Accomplishments for 2009
SCCF submits the Continuation in Part (CIP) containing all our experimental results with human pediatric sickle cell patients’ blood to the U.S. Patent Office, March 15, 2009. The U.S. Patent on our sickle cell cure is issued the following month, 4/14/09. SCCF’s patents in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the European Union (U.K., France, Germany, and Greece) are maintained, and their annuities paid. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) Protocol for our experiments with human blood from pediatric sickle cell patients is continued for 2009-2010, the 5th consecutive year for this approval rating by the OUHSC IRB for Protection of Human Subjects, acting ...
SCCF Takes On Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)
Somewhere, every minute, a baby dies of SCD. SCD is the most prevalent genetic disease globally. SCD occurs in many nations and among many races — wherever malaria was once or is still rampant. The Sickle Cell Cure Foundation has a cure for SCD. The SCCF’s cure will give SCD sufferers a normal life. The SCCF’s cure also provides malaria resistance. The SCCF has a global plan for cure distribution. The SCCF needs your help to save lives. What can you do? Become a Sickle Cell Cure Foundation member today. SCCF Purpose
SCCF Purpose
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) affects more people in the world than any other genetic disease. Globally, almost one-half million babies die from SCD each year. We have discovered a treatment that promises permanent relief from the suffering, pain and premature death caused by SCD. We have devised a strong global plan for delivering this treatment and invite interested parties to join with The Sickle Cell Cure Foundation in this endeavor. General purpose: Education and scientific research. Specific purpose: The purpose of the SCCF is to bring the cure that we have discovered to clinics around the... [Read the full story]
Global Mission
Global Mission
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a global problem. As the most common genetic disease in the world, SCD touches the lives of millions and affects many more. People of at least five racial groups and numerous ethnic origins have inherited the sickle gene. SCD is correctly classified as a “tropical disease”, since it is most common among populations living close to the equator, in tropical and subtropical regions. The populations in which SCD occurs most frequently live in Africa (which has about 75% of the cases), in Mediterranean countries, in the Middle East, and in India, with significant... MALARIA – SCD
MALARIA – SCD
HbF (fetal hemoglobin) suppresses the expression of sickle cell disease. In addition, a recent literature review by the imminent Dr. David Weatherall suggests that HbF protects infants from malaria during the first year of life, until HbF levels decline to modest levels through a normal developmental transition as quoted below: In vitro studies have shown that β-thalassaemic red cells are invaded at the same rate as normal red cells and that the rate of parasite growth is also indistinguishable from normal. However, both in human red cells and in transgenic mice carrying human γ-genes, it has... [Read the full story]

Sickle Cell Disease
Origins of Sickle Cell
Increasing fetal hemoglobin in people with homozygous sickle cell alleviates all symptoms of SCD. The Google map shows four independent genetic origins, or haplotypes, of SCD in different regions (ellipses) and the subsequent migrations of populations (white arrows). The solid white arrow is to signify the forced...
